Manchester band The Slow Readers Club has announced a five-date tour of the UK and Ireland.
Hot on the success of their third album Build A Tower, which went straight into the UK album charts at number 18, the band will play two shows in Ireland in October before a trio of shows in the UK in December. This includes the band’s biggest ever headline show at Manchester O2 Apollo on December 14th, which is likely to a massive celebration of their success so far and set to sell out rather quickly.
The band’s tour earlier this year saw sold out notices all over the country and the last couple of singles have seen airplay on national radio increase and support from local stations like XS Manchester (where they have been championed by Inspiral Carpets’ Clint Boon and got through to the semi-final stages of the station’s ‘Manchester Music Cup’ beating both Joy Division and The Charlatans!) and Internet-based Fab Radio International (where the band dropped in and conducted an almost hour-long interview with listeners tuning in from all over the world).
