If you’ve ever been of a curious disposition and had pondered on what it might have been like if Duffy, instead of doing some middle of the road stuff then disappearing, had travelled over the border to join in with the Bristol trip-hop scene, or even gone further afield to join Berlin’s EDM scene, then you might have already imagined EP Etc.
DRGM are a trio from London that have blended Ellen Wrights emotionally intelligent smoky vocals with a pop trip-hop soundtrack, laid down by Greg and Goose to create an EP that’s both intriguing and a platform for an interesting future. It Kicks off with Felt, a track decrying emotional frigidity, then the two stand out tracks, Cherryade and Vanilla provide an emotional weight with slick beats before concluding with the more pop orientated Drip. The band you feel are still feeling their way, playing with some accessible quirkinesses, yet have already demonstrated they are capable of growing into a festival headline act. They are ones to watch out for.
