There is a great British tradition associated with rigging music charts. It’s nothing new. Back in 1980 the much lamented World In Action ran a documentary ‘The Chart Busters‘ which detailed much of the issues, and in 2001 Raziq Rauf wrote the excellent ‘The Dummy’s Guide To Rigging The Charts‘. The practice hasn’t gone away, and is not confined to Britain, there’s Norway for example.
